A 3/4″, #4 straight fishtail gouge with a short shank, it is made for one-handed use, not for mallet work.

At 5 1/2″ long overall with a 1″ diameter turned (unfinished) hardwood handle, it is compact, comfortable, and easy to control. Useful for volume wasting and basic outline work.

Made of forged high-carbon steel, it is honed ready for use.
