Available with a #1 or #2 Morse taper (MT), or for lathes that do not have a Morse taper headstock (e.g., Taig lathes). Either shaft can be held in a self-centering chuck.

A headstock with a 7/8″ × 14 tpi or #1 3/4″ × 16 tpi thread size requires a #1 Morse taper; a headstock with a 1″ × 8 tpi or 1 1/4″ × 8 tpi thread size requires a #2 Morse taper. A 5/8” plain headstock does not require a Morse taper.
