Hot Lee Valley Brass Shopkeeper’s Bell

Often mounted over store entries to announce the arrival of a customer, this classic bell jingles with a clear, melodious tone as the door opens.

Stamped from solid brass with a tumbled finish, the 1 1/4″ tall, 1 1/2″ diameter bell is lightly lacquered to resist scuffs and tarnish. It has a cast zinc clapper and comes affixed to a band of flexible spring steel that responds to even slight movement. Together, the bell and band measure just over 7″ tall and project about 3″.

Made by a sixth-generation family business in operation in East Hampton, Connecticut, since 1832, and now the last manufacturer in the United States still solely devoted to bellmaking.
