While it is often difficult to find good-quality tools that are also appropriately scaled for children, this spade is made to the same quality standards as our full-size wooden-handled tools. A child will surely outgrow it long before it wears out.

The spade stands about 28″ tall overall and has a durable ash shaft set in a deep socket for excellent strength. The stainless-steel head measures 6 1/2″ × 4 5/16″ and has smooth surfaces and a well-formed edge to easily penetrate soil. Its folded treads provide a place to register the foot when digging in hard-packed earth.
