A light-colored, medium-density wood favored for carving, basswood is easy to work, with straight grain and a fine, even texture that takes detail well. These blanks are select-grade basswood, kiln dried, then milled to nominal dimensions and planed smooth on all faces.

The 14″ × 5″ × 7″ blocks are suitable for large ducks; the 14″ × 4″ × 6″ blocks are big enough for medium and small ducks. The 12″ × 3″ × 4″ blocks will yield one large or two small songbirds. The 6″ × 3″ × 4″ blocks are suitable for small birds, whittling, and head blanks for large birds. Made in Canada.
